What is the exact length of AB? https://media.glynlyon.com/g_geo_2012/13/img_geou13a_66.gif
Segment AB or Arc AB?
@leslie096 Look at the attachment. What is the measure of arc AB? Then, we'll move to the measure of segment AB.
90
Okay.
Because the arc is 90, its central angle is 90. We have a right triangle. Radii of the same circle are congruent so both legs of the right triangle are 4. Your task is to solve for segment AB (hypotenuse) by cranking out: (AB)^2 = 4^2 + 4^2 and solve for AB If you know the 45-45-90 theorem you can use that.
4 sqrt of 2, but thats not one of the options.
The options are: 4πm 6πm 8πm 12πm
Here's the problem. Remember when I asked you this question earlier "up the thread?" >>Segment AB or Arc AB? You did not respond. Apparently, we are looking for arc AB. Before we work this again, check your text and determine if we want SEGMENT AB or ARC AB? Okay? Thanks.
It's asking for the exact length of arc AB
I assume it is major arc AB that you want to find. A circle has 360 degrees and the arc AB has a degree measure of 270. 270 is 3/4 the circumference of the circle. See attachment.
Your task is to find what 3/4 time 2*pi*4 equals.
I see the answer among the options.
@leslie096 Please -- let's get a wrap on this. What did you get for the answer?
6?
@Directrix
I got 6 pi. 6 pi and 6 are as different as day and night. So, check your work, and I'll check mine.
well yeah thats what i meant
Well, 6 pi it is, then.
Anyways thanks for all your help
You're welcome.
