What is the solution set for |2x – 3| = 15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We need the absolute value of 2x-3 to equal 15. Remember that the absolute value has to be positive. So we need the stuff inside the absolute value to either be equal to 15, or negative 15, since the absolute value of -15 is 15. So set up two equations and solve: \[2x-3 =15\] \[2x-3=-15\]
