given a right triangle corresponding to: sin(θ) = 5/6 Use Pythagorean Theorem to determine the third side and then find the tan(θ).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue where to even start...

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Well sin is opposite side/hypotenuse. So that should give you a hint

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh does that mean that opp=5 and hyp=6?

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Mhhhm

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

So now you can set up 5^2+b^2=6^2 and find your adjacent side and fina tan (opposite/adjacent)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so adj = sqrt11?

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Yerp.
