When whales beach themselves they usually die from suffocation because they are unable to support their body weight when out of the water. Which property of water enables them to grow to such massive sizes without any problems of support?

Perhaps the buoyant force that every fluid exerts upwards on objects immersed wholly or partially in it. This explains why you can easily drag heavy weights in water easily (Such as a boat) than on land. :)
