Help!! Need to create a Histogram with 45,68,78,87,82,94,67,56,82,89,88,65,74,71,97,75,62,54,55

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For your reference, here are steps to making a histogram: 1. Begin by putting the data into ascending order. 2. We now need to make a frequency. Decide upon evenly spaced intervals into which to divide the set of data (such as 0, 10, 20, 30 etc) and then count the number of values that fall within each interval.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So now let's work out an example using your data.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Order your data.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be: (this could take a second)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have multiple question answers and the frequency for them all go up 1-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. I'll work with that then. So the order of your numbers will be: 45, 54, 55, 56, 62, 65, 67, 68, 71, 74, 75, 78, 82, 82, 87, 88, 89, 94, 97

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now we are going to make our frequency

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is my first time dealing with this so i have no idea how to do any of this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't worry I am going to be showing you! You'll have a good idea of how to do this once I am done explaining.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay sorry, my internet went down for awhile!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm back! =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With your data, you want to place an even scale on the x axis of your graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be the 1-6 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, this would be the data that we had to put in order. This data goes along the horizontal side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All those numbers are placed along the bottom, (you will see my scale in the final answer) The vertical part of the graph is where we will put the frequency of these numbers (how many times those numbers presented on the bottom appear)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it gives me 41-50,51-60,61-70,71-80,81-90,91-100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that would by the vertical part of the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me draw it out, it will make it much easier to understand!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I am so confusing. I am confusing myself. Okay. Let me try that again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its opposite on my multiple choice answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I was wrong sorry! It's been awhile since my stats class. It can be very tricky.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Forget what I said. Erase, and restart, my apologies.
