To avoid giving the answer, you could give a hint such as this: x - 7 = 21 - 7 Then allow the user to reason for him or her self what x equals.

Bro, you completely missed the boat. You missed the whole point of my comment. The goal for Open Study is to help lead lost students to the answer without actually giving it to them. So, in other words, give steps, hints, or guidance. Just don't give the answer. My post was basically helpful advice on how you might avoid doing so.

Another thing, the question is easy for you...but it might be difficult for the student who posted the question. You cannot assume that it is "easy". There's different ranges of easy for different people.
