PLEASE HELP!! Show all work in dividing. Use complete sentences to explain how to simplify this expression. (y^2 - y - 12) / (y^2 - 6y + 8) Divided by (y^2 + 2y - 15) / (y^2 - 7y + 10)

I've already flipped the reciprocal so i can multiply it. I factored them and i am ending up with this: (y + 3) (y - 5) ------ X ------- 1 (y-3)(y+5) What do i do from here?? Do i just multiply them, is it already simplified?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fro m here u cant do anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(y-4)(y+3) (y-2)(y-5) (y+3)(y-5) --------- * --------- = -------- (y-4)(y-2) (y+5)(y-3) (y+5)(y-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's already simplified? And @magesh4u and i allowed to combine the (y+3) with (y-5) like you did? If it's multiplying?

@blurbendy

well you begin, by multiply the top fraction by the reciprocal of the bottome fraction then with would be beneficial to factor all the numerator and denoinators, that way we can see what terms will divide out once you have done that simply multiply across

Okay, i just wanted to make sure i did this right, thank you!(:

No problems :)
