The charged particle enter at an angle of 45degree with the magnetic field then, what will be the path of particle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to find the direction of the force on a moving charged particle?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep...i just want the anwer of above Q.....options are a)straight line b)circular c)ellipse d)spiral

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think would happen?? when charged particle enters perpendicular what is the path of the particle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its circular path...but while complition of circle if the particle goes outside the field then it moves in a straight line...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes we are not worried about that.. now think of it this way.. the velocity is 45 degrees.. so.. a component of it is perpendicular that gives it a circular motion another component is parallel to the field which has no effect.. so what do you think happens when you a particle which is describing both a circle and moving ahead?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it...its spiral... thanx

your welcome :)
