What are the critical numbers for x^5 +4x^3- 16x

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

The critical numbers would be where you take the first derivative of the function...and set it equal to 0 and solve for 'x'...can you do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have done the derivative and got 5x^4 + 12x -16. But I cnt get it factor or use quadratic. Can you help?

OpenStudy (loser66):

take a look at this https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=5x^4%2B12x^2-16%3D0

that kinda helps but it doesn't show me how to find the solution, it just shows me the answer. Thank you though.
