What is a Bell’s Palsy Medical Report?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bell's palsy is a paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one side of your face. Damage to the facial nerve that controls muscles on one side of the face causes that side of your face to droop camera. The nerve damage may also affect your sense of taste and how you make tears and saliva. This condition comes on suddenly, often overnight, and usually gets better on its own within a few weeks.

ok, thanks! I have a better understanding of it now! I didn't know that it could come on suddenly. What would happen if it was to not get any better on its own within a few weeks? Or is that possible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its usually goes away within few weeks and sometimes takes months or weeks to get better..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most people have no long-lasting symptoms of Bell's palsy once it gets better. Some people may recover and then have Bell's palsy again months or years later. Some people may have life-long problem.
