Which point lies in the solution set for the following system of inequalities? y > x + 4 y > -x + 2 (1, 6) (-2, -1) (-3, 2) (1, 1)

what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I don't know how to solve it so I don't think anything.

There are a few ways to do this but the easiest is to take each point and put it in both equations and see if it is true. For instance, the point (1,1) y > x + 4 y > -x + 2 1> 1 + 4 = 1 > 5 = false 1> -1 + 2 = 1>1 = false Although we have false in both equation, it only takes one false for it not to be a solution so point (1,1) us not the answer. Can you finish?
