Which of the following best compares the cells produced from mitosis to those produced during meiosis? Mitosis produces genetically different haploid cells, while meiosis produces genetically identical diploid cells. Mitosis produces genetically identical diploid cells, while meiosis produces genetically different haploid cells. what's your best choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mitosis replicates all of the cells chromosomes and only undergoes division once, so the cells produced are diploid and identical. Whereas meiosis undergoes division twice and crossing over occurs in metaphase, creating genetically different cells. Meiosis occurs in the sex cells, so that is why humans are all genetically different. Hope this helps you :)
