Medals shall be rewarded. Thanks for the help (Trigonometry question) Two pulleys, 50cm and 30cm in diameter, respectively, are connected by a belt, the larger pulley makes 12 revolutions per minute. Find the angular speed of the smaller pulley in rad/sec.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Angular speed of the large pulley is 12 rev/min * 1 min/60 seconds * 2 pi radians/revolution = \(\frac{2}{5}\pi\) rad/sec The smaller pulley will turn faster, inversely proportional to the ratio of circumference of each pulley.
