OpenStudy (jh3power):

whats the relationship between the resistivity of an electric cable and the temperature?

OpenStudy (shamim):

Resistivity will b constant for all temperature

OpenStudy (jh3power):

thanks:)

OpenStudy (shamim):

Resistance will increase with increasing temperatire

OpenStudy (shamim):

Welcome

OpenStudy (jh3power):

how come?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's directly proportional to its temperature.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in electric wires flow of electrons as flow of water in a pipe.when temperature increases electrons flow in wire also increases but while flowing electrons collide with atoms of the wire.hence its flow decreases.current flow decreases.resistivity is different from resistance . resistance per unit length of unit are is called resistivity. is constant for specific substances.
