OpenStudy (rane):

Refer to the gases & liquids, state y water was used in the early heat pump system ?

OpenStudy (rane):

@varun1495 ?

OpenStudy (rane):

how does that explain abt water ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

early Heat Pump Systems Use Wastewater to Lower HVAC Costs.

OpenStudy (rane):

yes y not any more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

May b now other liquids with higer boiling pt are used for more efficiency

OpenStudy (rane):

liquids such as? can u be more spacific pls

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Elevation in boiling pt is done by mixing some solute particles in solvent such as water only........as it is a colligative property

OpenStudy (rane):

y water was used in the early heat pump systems ?

OpenStudy (rane):

@mr.singh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Coz it is easily available nd cheap... nd science was not mature then

OpenStudy (rane):

thanks u so much

OpenStudy (rane):

bt can u pls explain 1 more thing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will try

OpenStudy (rane):

how is water different from gases & other liquids 's heat capacity (mass)?

OpenStudy (rane):

I mean they could not be used instead of water bt y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Specific heat is a characteristic property.... it is different for different fluids... heat capacity=given mass*specific heat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is 1000 calories for water

OpenStudy (rane):

so y was H2O was used bt not the other gases or liqiuds

OpenStudy (rane):

not only becoz it was cheaper then them. r there any other scientific reasons ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As it is most easily available nd in abundance...... wich other fluida are easily available?????? Also its specific heat is not too high or not too low

OpenStudy (rane):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (rane):

even though this is really confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U hav ny other ques??

OpenStudy (rane):

yup I do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ask

OpenStudy (rane):

Why compressor & expansion valve are critical for the functioning of the heat pump?

OpenStudy (rane):

I think Heat is never constant so compressor & expansion valve help it to balance it. am I right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Didn't get the ques....... if compressor nd expansion valve will not work .... how will heat pump function???

OpenStudy (rane):

the q' is asking that y are these two critical (in other words necessary) for functioning of the heat pump?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Comprwssor helps in cooling of circulating fluid

OpenStudy (rane):

that's all

OpenStudy (rane):

bt someone told me wht I said above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are basic components of heat pump......it can't work without dem....... I will do some research nd msg u on dis dis

OpenStudy (rane):

ok bt can u mssg asap, this is due bye tomorrow night

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok.. iwll msg at earliest

OpenStudy (rane):

k thanks

OpenStudy (rane):

r u in uni?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No... I just got admission.... classes startin .Frm aug..wbu????

OpenStudy (rane):

oh! I mean in ist yr

OpenStudy (rane):

just asked bcoz whenever I come in phys section to answer the q's, at majority of times u have already answered them
