In exercise 1-5, for each function or system, tell whether the question is relevant? 1. What are the coordinates of the vertex? a. x+4y=9 b. 4y+x^2=9 c. y=1/4x^2 Would I use the vertex formula: [-b/2a , f(-b/2a)] to find the answer to a, b and c? Super confused. Or is there another way of telling how to find out if the question is relevant? :O

OpenStudy (dan815):

a) is a line

OpenStudy (dan815):

b and c are parabolas so they can have a vertex

OpenStudy (dan815):

do you know that y = x^2 is a parabola this is the base function

OpenStudy (dan815):

when x = 0 y=0 this is where the vertex is

OpenStudy (dan815):

0,0

OpenStudy (dan815):

having a diffrent slope wont change it so C) is still 0,0

OpenStudy (dan815):

now b re arrange in terms of y
