Which system of inequalities is graphed below?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x – 3y > –27 x + 5y < 15 2x – 3y < –27 x + 5y < 15 2x – 3y greater than or equal to –27 x + 5y less than or greater to 15 2x – 3y less than or greater to –27 x + 5y less than or greater to 15

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

Observe that both lines are dotted. So your equations must have oly < and > that means, you can strike off last two options from possible answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok would it be the second answer??? im kinda lost

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

its either first or second

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

figuring out is easy, let me think a bit

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

look at the graph again both are shaded down so you must have < in both equations (when u turn them to y = mx + c form)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so if its shaded down its < and if its shaded up its > i understand Now!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isnt the second optiond the one with 2 <

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

lets try second option :- 2x – 3y < –27 -2x+3y > 27 y > something ------------(1) x + 5y < 15 y < something -----------(2)

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

you got two different signs, so its not the second option.

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

coz, (1) has >, so graph has to SHADE up. but u dont have any shading up in the graph. so ditch 2nd option

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x – 3y < –27 x + 5y < 15 this is the answer? same sign twice

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

u need to look same sign twice after converting the equations to y=mx+c form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so the sign switches

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

yes, i did that above, have a look. and didnt get same sign twice for these

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the answer would be 2x – 3y > –27 x + 5y < 15 the sign switches on the top one?

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

exactly !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

yw :)
