Do you remember the Berlin Wall coming down? How did it make you feel? How have your feelings about that era changed since 1989 and the Berlin Wall coming down?
Well I wasn't alive for it, but I can probably take a guess and give you an answer that would sound good for a teacher: "When the Berlin Wall came down, it felt like two worlds that were cut off finally came together. It felt like I was being emancipated from the everyday fear that I had to live in, WE had to live, with all of the nuclear bomb threats, worrying that any morning we could wake up and everything could be blasted away. Now I look back at it, and I'm glad it happened the way it did. It was a people's rebellion. people coming together.
How do you think future generations will remember the Cold War? What lessons should students today take away from the Cold War? can you answer this one to please
I think they should learn that nuclear weapons are dangerous, and that we ought to value life more then what we did back then. Several times reckless, careless leaders nearly took the world back to the stone age. But I also think that they should remember it for the technology that the cold war brought. GPS navigation, government using networking, a prototype of today's internet. We put a man on the moon because of the cold war. Just because us and the soviets were rivals we decided to launch a couple of men millions of miles a way from earth just to be the first country to land on a rock! I hope they realize just how influential the cold war really was.
