Help I don't know the answer (Pics included)
first calculate the equation of the line
I have no idea what that means. I had a "self-teach" teacher, so I learned nothing 1st semester.
substitute two points, for instance the points of intersection with x and y axis in the general equation of line passing through two different points: (y - y_0)(x_1 - x_0) = (y_1 - y_0)(x - x_0).
the line intersects x axis in point (4,0)=(x_0,y_0) substitute the coordinates in equation of the line then do the same with point of y axis intersection (x_1,y_1)
or you can substitute these points in slope- intercept form(y=mx+c), and solve the system of linear equations
for example: the points that line passing through are; A(1,2) and B(3,6) then 2=m*1+b and 6=m*3 +b you will find m and b, then just put them into equation y=mx+b in this case its : y=2x
Have you got the line equation?
I don't know
what is the point of intercection with y axis?
|dw:1373991430158:dw| it's the point P, right?
