Are the given vectors normal? p=(-9,1) and q=(5,8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the rule is if the v dot u = zero, then the two vectors are normal, or perpndicular to each other. so just do the dot product, of the two vectors and if you get zero, then they are normal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

p dot q = <-9, 1>*<5,8> = (-9)(5)+(1)(8)= -37. The dot product is not zero, so the two vectors are not normal.
