PLEASE help!!! 1 medal and fan What is the first step in the construction of a perpendicular line from point P to line m? Measure the distance from point P to line m. Use a straightedge to draw a perpendicular line to line m through point P. Construct an arc that intersects line m at two points. Add a point below line m and connect the points. https://rialto5819-ehs-pps.gradpoint.com/Resource/2146263,72F,0,0,0,0,0/Assets/testitemimages/geometry_a/parallel_and_perpendicular_lines/mc155-1.jpg
@jim_thompson5910
any ideas?
I'll tell you right now that "Use a straightedge to draw a perpendicular line to line m through point P. " is the last step you would do (since this is EXACTLY what you want to do) so it's definitely not the first step so you can eliminate choice B
I THINK ITS A
you can't measure distances because rulers aren't allowed in geometry
strange fact, but true only straightedges and compasses are allowed
THEN MY 2ND CHOICE IS C
why C?
i dont know it just sound right
how does it sound right? do you have any reasons to back it up?
no
you are correct, it is C, but hopefully it wasn't a guess? if so, then I recommend you look through your notes on how to construct perpendicular lines
thank you :)
