So I've found a lot of old computer games on CDs that I would like to be able to find a way for my neice to play on my computer. One of them is from 1998 and I have a MacBook Pro. Is there some software or application that I can download to be able to use the game on this computer?
There are lots of virtual environments for classic games.
Please explain?
Well, what is the game designed to run on?
well they're CD-ROM and all are able to be used on Windows, only some are able to be used on Mac OS
So you need like a Windows 98 compatible install, or perhaps XP. https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+98+virtual+machine
ok, well thanks for the help!!
Bacially the VM host program lets you make a pretend computer inside your computer. Thus, Windows can run on a Mac or Mac can run on Windows, and so on.
You can even do cross hardware emulation, so an i86 box can pretend to be an ARM system. That is how developers usually test Android programs before putting them on real devices.
