if a boy dropped a book and pencil from a 3rd storey building.if the objects were dropped 9 m from the ground, how long would it take to hit the ground? if the acceleration due to gravity is 10ms-2, what would the velocity be when the book hits the ground?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the time is 0.9 s^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that is rgt.... 0.9sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

v=d/t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

final velocity is 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.9 sec

Actually guys thanks for helping much apprecitaed but your answer is wrong, I posted this question to some where else which was also very helpful but the answer is 1.34s and there also the question what is the velocity which 13.4ms-1.Never mind thanks for helping. :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[9-5t^2=0\] \[t=\frac{3}{\sqrt5}\approx1.34\] so yeah
