Has any projectile been launched with escape speeds? 11.2km/hr? i am not able to google search it at all.. everywhere they explain the derivation and problems.. I mean in reality has it been done? if not what is the max velocity we have reached so far?
space flights are self propelled .. they aren't projectiles .. m talking about projectiles!
yeah..To be a projectile you have to be moving solely under the effect of gravity..But let me search
yeha.. but i donno why no one tried projecting it with that speed? :P
Actually can cannon shots do it?
no ways :D
yeah..:D
It is too high a speed to be attained within a short time. Imagine the acceleration needed.
well.. there is no limit on how big the barrel should be .. and so with todays technology we shoudl be able to .. besides there is this new gun called railgun.. that shoudl do it!!
http://www.nytimes.com/1994/03/22/science/fastest-gun-on-earth-goals-go-beyond-planet.html Apparently, something went very fast.. And I guess the launcher is 60 feet long and shoots a projectile to be 10 miles per second. I only browsed the article, though.
escape velocity is only a theoritical concept,at this speed something will catch fire in the atmosphere due to friction. So the actual projection is a gradual process of accelerating the projectile
wow.. thats way more than the escape speed :D :D!!
