Is this the x or y axsis? PLZ HELP???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think I quite understand what exactly you're asking. What you've got highlighted is a point, not an axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the (x,y) points are on which side of the axis??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This was the question that i got. Identify the type of transformation given the rule N(x, y) = (–x, y).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The point highlighted (not the original one) is on the positive side of the X axis and the negative side of the Y axis. Y goes up and down, X goes left and right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH!. hold on let me look at the graph again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These are my options. a. horizontal translation c. reflection across the x-axis b. vertical translation d. reflection across the y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. The picture you attached is referring to a different rule than the question they asked you. Do you want just the answer or do you want to know why as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just an answer would be cool. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, i thought that would be an example of my question. :S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reflection across the Y axis. But make sure you don't get the picture and the question confused because they are two different things.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good luck on the rest!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, thanks a lot! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah, it's totally cool. It took me a while to figure out they werent the same too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha..xD sorry. S:
