OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

The geometric mean of positive numbers a and b is sqrt(ab). Do you agree? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

explain? it is the definition

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

yes because to find geometric mean is a*b and the you must take square root.

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

is that a good reason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am not sure what you mean by "explain" the definition of the geometric mean is that the geometric mean of two number \(a\) and \(b\) is \[\sqrt{a\times b}\] it is just the definition, so there can be no real "explanation"

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

that was what i needed :D TY @satellite73
