That being said, how can I help if you do not post a complete problem. For example where is the "graphical solution shown below?" You see, I can't see what is not here, so I can't help you until you provide the graph.

I got this question wrong on my exam. I am just trying to see how it is done so I could get it right to a problem similar in the future.
We need to solve the equation for each line. They appear to intersect a point P(-4,2) so that would be a point on each line. One line has a positive slope, the other a negative slope.
The line with a negative slope seem to go through point (1, -3) The line with a positive slope seems to pass thru point (0, 3) Assuming those points are correct (graph is blurry, and so is my vision).
