using the difference of squares formula \(\large (a+b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2\) we would get this \[\large (4+\sqrt{8})(4-\sqrt{8}) = 4^2 - (\sqrt{8})^2\] \[\large (4+\sqrt{8})(4-\sqrt{8}) = 16 - 8\] \[\large (4+\sqrt{8})(4-\sqrt{8}) = 8\]
