please help i need to finish quickly!!! Evaluate the following expression: 3(1,-1) - (4,-2).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a type of matrix notation. You would multiply both the x and y coordinates by 3 first and then subtract the corresponding x and y-coordinates in that second point to come up with an answer that is in (x, y) format.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How are you doing with that, @rowerguy508 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still working on it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 1,-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello @tcarroll010 ru there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close: It becomes: (3, -3) - (4, -2) (-1, -1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks i know what i did wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uw!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me with this question What is the sum of the two vectors (1,1) and (-1,4)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r u still there @tcarroll010

For new questions, you do better by putting them in a new post, but since you already posted it here: Add the 2 "x" entries to get a new "x". Do the same with the "y" to get a new "y". Answer will be in form (x, y) If you have a new question after this, new post.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should get (0, 5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry ill remember that next time.

np! Nice working with you! Good luck in studies!
