Find the perimeter of an object which has a length of feet and a width of feet. Explain, in complete sentences, how you arrived at the answer and give the final solution in simplified radical form. What type of object might this be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Length and width of how many feet, or just feet in general?

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

As the question states "a" length of feet and "a" width of feet, I am thinking it is a parallelogram. Does the question give values for the length and width?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What leads you to believe it is a parallelogram? Surely it could as easily be a square or a rectangle or a rhombus or some other polygon...?

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

A parallelogram is defined as "a flat shape with opposite sides parallel and equal in length" by www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/parallelogram.html‎. So a square, rectangle, or rhombus are all parallelograms.

Okay I see your logic there! Seems like a good conclusion to me!
