Given the system of equations, what is the solution? x + 2y = 11 x - 2y = -1 {(-5, -3)} {(1, 1)} {(5, 3)}

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

There's the quick and easy way to do this, it can only be done when you are given choices...or we can pretend that there aren't any choices :D

i need some help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand it at all

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Well, let's try the second choice. (1,1) replace the x's with 1's and the y's with 1's. 1+2(1) = 11 Which isn't true... so (1,1) IS NOT THE ANSWER
