Police arrest a group of news reporters who complain on television and in newspapers that a local judge is often making errors in case rulings and should be removed from the job. The reporters claim they have the right to express their opinions while reporting the news. Which amendment to the Constitution supports their claim?
Ninth Amendment Fifth Amendment Second Amendment First Amendment
First Amendment I believe.
It cannot be the Second Amendment because that amendment means that you have the right to own guns.
Either 1st amendment or 5th amendment.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"- First Amendment. What that means it establishes a religion, stops the freedom of speech, stops people from practicing their religion, stops the press from printing what they want, and stops people from exercising their right to assemble peacefully or demonstrating against the government.
