PLEASE HELP ME! Given sin A = -.45 find angle A in degrees. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. Show all work please.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

since the sin of the angle is negative the angle can be in the 3rd and 4th quadrants so find sin(A) = 0.45 then the 3rd quadrant angle is 180 + A 4th quadrant angle is 360 - A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So there is two answers? one in the 3rd and one in the 4th?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats correct, provided you haven't been given a restriction on the domain, for this question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so either A= about 180.43º or A= about 179.56º

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

nope to find A \[A = \sin^{-1}(0.45)\] can you find the measure of the angle..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 180.46 and 179.53

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

not even close can you find the arcsin of 0.45

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sin^{-1}(.45)=.466765339\]
