Composition of Functions~ For the functions f(x)=3x+1 and g(x)=x^2=4x Find each of the following: (g o f)(-2) (f o g)(4) (g o f)(x) (f o g)(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Composition of functions:: Let f:R-R and g:R->R then gof :R->R defined as (gof)(x)=g(f(x))

I almost forgot about this notation! Anyways, (g o f)(-2) really means g(f(-2)). So let's go from the inside out. f(-2) = 3(-2) + 1 f(-2) = whatever Then find g(whatever)

Please redefine your function g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it x^2 -4x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g(x)=x^2+4x..... sorry
