Parametric Equations help. I understand these equations, basically. However whenever I try and enter this particular equation i keep getting error messages and it will not graph. x=3sin^3t y=3cos^3t and yes the cos/sin are both cubed... Please I don't understand why I cannot graph this...
what are you trying to graph it on?

I have tried on a ti-84 plus graphing calculator and on an online grapher...which is what i need to use because I have to show my teacher an image. would you like the link for what i am using?
draws up fine for me on that link .... did you make sure to click "parametric" and not "equation" ?
Yes I did. I have done several others just fine. I was not sure how to incorporate the cube correctly...
on my calculator I was have syntax error as well, so I know this was my issue...how would you type that into a calc...just for future reference please?
in the ti84, try 3(sin(t))^3 in order to power up a trig function
also make sure your in "par" mode for a parametric "Y=" setup
works fine on my ti83
ok thank you, I was trying to cube the sin before the variable.
lol, thats just notational jargon by convention. (....)^k works for whenever you want to k up antyhing
haha ya, I will remember that now thanks :)
good luck ;)
