Determine which set of ordered pairs is a function. A. {(–1, 3), (1, 4), (–1, 5)} B. {(5, 3), (–6, 3), (–2, 4)} C. {(0.5, 1.6), (1, 1.75), (1.5, 2.3), (0.5, 3.6)} D. {(1, 2), (–5, 4), (3, 6), (–5, 2)}
A relation is a function if and only if each x value has no more than one y value. For example, look at A. There are two points that have -1 as an x value. So this relation is not a function since two different points have the same x coordinate.
this is hard i just really need the answer lol sorry im in summer school and im at 60% and i need to get to 90% by thursday
you need to get 90%, or you want to "learn" 90%?
Just giving the answer won't help you though. Learning the material will help you much more. In order to be a function, each x value must have one y value at most. So, for choice A, this is untrue since there are (-1,5) and (-1,3)
we know the answer, but I don't see how that "helps" you
actually i meant i need to get to 100% by thursday and it helps because ill never learn this stuff its hard for me
