The surface area of a triangular prism is made up of 5 surfaces. Two of the surfaces are shaped like triangles. They are the bases. The bases have the same area. Each base has the area of a triangle. The other three surfaces are the sides of the prism. They make up the lateral area of the prism. The lateral area of the prism is a rectangle that has as dimensions the perimeter of the base and the height of the prism.
