Which scale factor would produce an image larger than the pre-image in a dilation? one-fourth one-half 1 3

OpenStudy (primeralph):

3.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

a scale factor of 1/4 would turn any pre-image into a smaller image ex: if something is 12 units long, applying the scale factor would make it 12*(1/4) = 3 units long (so it's now smaller)

OpenStudy (primeralph):

1/4 , 1/2 are less 1 is same 3 enlarges.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the same can be said of 1/2 as well
