Where was the Black Plague most prominent?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

The Black Plague was most famous from killing 1/3 of Europe's population.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Wait. Black Plague as in Bubonic plague?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a specific city in Europe or is it just Europe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Ohh. I thought you meant the Black Death.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

The Black Death was believed to cause the Bubonic plague. So the Bubonic plague killed 30% - 60% of Europe's total population! Now that's a lot. That is rougly ~25 Million people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just in Europe as a whole it affected the most or is there a specific country in Europe it affected the most?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

All around Europe.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thanks for the help.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

No problem. :)

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Fact: It orginated from China. But the affect mostly took place in Europe. :)

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

How did it spread? From trading. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your good have you take AP European History yet?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Nope. I'm 12. I learned a lot about history during my past 7 years.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow i should really learn from a 12 year old im 16 this is sad

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

No-no. As said in my profile: Age doesn't mean anything to my intellignece. So even though my age is 12, my intelligence in history is like an 18 year old. ;) So don't feel bad.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It also largely decimated China; as bad if not worse than Europe

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

You're quite right. It did originated in China. And it did kill some people. But not as bad as Europe. Since Europe has multiple countries.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i agree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cairo and Constantinople suffered as well. It really was across the settled nations of the world that it had the highest toll

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Aren't those in Rome?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not Cairo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

They're still in Europe. >_>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cairo is in Egypt...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the near east, but your point still stands

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Egypt is close to Europe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, the death rate in Europe varied greatly. If I remember correctly, in certain facets of population had a 90% death toll!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

incorrect 2072.16 miles from Europe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*Cairo

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Lol. Really. Incorrecting me? Egypt is one of the closest country in Africa that is closest to Europe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd say Morocco is the closest to Europe :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's RIGHT next to Spain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I know what you mean

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

One of the* Not necessary the closest, but one of the closest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I understand. I wish every 12 yr old was like you; actually caring enough to learn

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

I am one unique 12 year old. :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mhm. History is my favorite subject; it really needs more love

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

How old are you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Not bad for a 14 year old. >_>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. Do you live in the states?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

'Murica

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Yes. I live in New York City.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah. You should look into dual enrollment programs. Great learning opportunity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You do college and high school at the same time

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

I heard AP history was very difficult.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My school year begins on August 26th (my birthday), and I''l be taking college classes at Florida Atlantic University. Last year, in 9th grade, I took regular world history. It wasn't AP because too many people would fail. But I signed up for the AP Exam, and I passed

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

A 14-year old taking college-level. Not bad. Happy early birthday. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I didn't study much, so if you *get* history and study, it shouldn't be too hard to do better than I did. Thank you, although I turn 15 on the first day of class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i am incorrecting GoldPhenoix you because you first stated in previous messages "Aren't those in Rome" referring to if both the cities Cairo and Constantinople are in Europe. INCORRECT because Cairo is in fact in the subcontinent of Africa, to be more precise Egypt. On to your second statement which was "Egypt is close to Europe" INCORRECT no it is not your telling me that 2072.16 miles is close... i wonder how u travel anyways if u don't believe me about the distance heres a link http://www.distancefromto.net/distance-from/Egypt/to/Europe Therefore im happy to clarify both your statements are incorrect. Thanks.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Egypt, espically Cairo is one of the country in Africia that is closest to the nearest European country. The difference between the middle of Egypt and Cairo is 224.55 miles, according to that website. I believe Greece is the European country that is closest to Egypt. The distance between Egypt and the center of Greece, according to that website is 822.13 miles. 822.13 miles is definetly shorter compared to 2072.16 miles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha you are trying to change your previous statement the keywords that were changed in this new accusation you made is that Cairo is the closest IN AFRICA but in fact you said previously that Cairo is close to Europe nope INCORRECT it maybe the closest in Africa but you were certainly wrong in the conditions you were stating prior to this comment not to mention the thought of Cairo being in Europe, now you have to admit thats COMPLETELY WRONG your very very very wrong and incorrect sorry.
