C(x) = 49x + 2000, where x is the number of calculators produced. How many calculators can be produced if the cost is limited to $114,700?

OpenStudy (oaktree):

Since you can thing of C(x) as the output of the math machine, or the answer you get out when you plug in, say, a number of calculators for x, try setting C(x) equal to $114,700 and solving for the variable. The question is basically asking, "What number of calculators are needed for the function to pop out the number 114,700?"

Thanks.

No problem. Just tell me what you get and I'll make sure it's right for you, OK?
