What is the domain of f(x) = log(x) - 5? Answer a. x < 0 b. x > 1 c. x > 0 d. All real numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is C !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not A. You can't have a negative value inside the log, because theres no power you can raise a positive value to to get a negative number. The answer should be x>0, since x can't be negative.

We have : \[\log x-5 \text{ is defined}\iff \log x\text{ is defined}\iff x>0\]
