What percent of 700 is 875?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\Large \frac{\text{quantity}}{\text{original amount}} * 100 = \text{percentage}\)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

700 = x% of 875 700 = 875x% 700/875 = x% .8 = x% 80 % = x check... 700 = 80% of 875 700 = (.8)(875) 700 = 700 (correct) SmoothMath's way is probably easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its 125 because its asking what percent of 700 is 875

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. 100% of 700 would be 700, but 875 is actually more than that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 125%, which you could think of as 100% of 700 plus 25% of 700. One whole plus another quarter of 700.

oh..sorry..I read the problem wrong....my bad
