Need help with a stats proof: attached pic has my work so far. I'm curious as to whether I am on the right track with this, and also, I just need some help as to how to proceed next as I am getting stuck with summation notation.

as a note, the book uses c's instead of x's, so the finite population is defined as {c_1, c_2,...c_n}
