Please help.Which ordered pair is a solution to the system of inequalities y< 3x -1 y>|x-2| A.(3, –1) B.(4, 4) C.(0, 1) D.(–2, 0)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

substitute the points to see which one is true example point (3,-1) y < 3x -1 -1 < 3(3) -1 -1 < 8 true y > {x-2} -1 > {3-2} -1 > 1 not true check the other points

OpenStudy (jkbo):

@ivettef365 I got B. would that be the right answer?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

lets try B = (4,4) so y < 3x -1 4 < 3(4) -1 4< 12 -1 4 < 11 true now y > {x-2} 4 > {4-2} 4 > 2 true correct

OpenStudy (jkbo):

Thanks @ivettef365
