What is the vertex of y = 2|x| – 1 ?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the -1 moves the vertex down the y axis 1 unit from an original positiion at the vertex

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would that make the equation?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you're not after an equation you're after the vertex so y = 2|x| has a vertex at the origin y = 2|x| - 1 moves the vertex down the y axis 1 unit

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so what point would it be.... and that would be the vertex

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(0,-1) right?
