-6x+5y=16x+4y=-10

OpenStudy (radar):

Convert to slope intercept form getting: y = (6/5)x - 2 and y= -4x - 10/4 y=y so we can now state (6/5)x -2 =-4x-10/4 can be simplified to (6/5)x+4x=-1/2 We can now solve for x as y was "eliminated" (26/5)x = -1/2 x=-5/52 Now substitute that value for x in the first equation getting: 30/52 + 5y = -10 Now solve for y. You probably will get a solution of y= -110/52 solution is (-5/52, -110/52)

For some reason I found this problem very tedious and prone to cause errors.
