what is the surface area of a cylinder with a radius of 2 units and a height of 22 units

OpenStudy (psymon):

You need the circumference multiplied by the height. The circumference would be pi x diameter. Since the diameter is twice the radius, you have 4pi for the circumference. Now multiply that by the height of 22. So your answer would be 88pi, which you can punch into a calculator if needed.

Depends on what the question is asking, you might or might not need to include the areas of the top and bottom of the cylinder.
