Does sublimation occur only when the solid is heated ?

Sublimation happens when the total gas pressure of the local atmosphere is less than the vapor pressure, and melting has not happened yet because it is not hot enough.

Not necessary to heat them :) some may show sublimation without heating also for example camphor :) some may require heat for the sublimation :) once again it depend on the material and bonding present in them
