Actually, it is possible that aliens can exist in different dimensions, so maybe you won't be able to see them since our eyes can only observe a limited light frequency bandwidth.

All, good possibilities. I do find it hard to believe that earth is the only planet with intelligent life or that we are the most advanced. There must be other planets (in this galaxy or not) that have greater technology and sophistication then we do.
