ASAP (Medal & Fan) This doesn't make sense to me (Pic included)

OpenStudy (nptweezy):

im confused

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what they really mean is test around the values from all choices, see which one works let''s test the 1st one, A) \(\bf 5x-2y = 10\\ \color{blue}{(-1, 5) = (x, y)}\\ 5(-1)-2(5) = 10\\ -5 -10 = 10\\ -15 = 10\\ \text{well, we know that}-15 \ne 10\) so that EQUATION didn't work, thus set in A is NOT A SOLUTION now test B)

OpenStudy (nptweezy):

b is -5 @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

-5 = ?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so yes, -5 = 10 but we know that \(\bf -5 \ne 10\) so that isn't a solution either, try C)

OpenStudy (nptweezy):

its C @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap, 0-2(-5) = 10 10 = 10 thus C is a solution :)
